About this service

Support shaped around the individual

Live-in care provides continuous presence in the person’s home for those who need a higher level of day-to-day support but wish to remain in familiar surroundings. A carefully matched care worker lives in the home and provides support in line with the agreed care plan.

This service may be helpful for

  • Adults who need regular support throughout the day
  • People whose needs cannot be met through short visits alone
  • Individuals who wish to avoid or delay moving into residential care
  • People who need companionship alongside practical care
  • Families seeking a consistent home-based care arrangement

We can help with

  • Personal care where agreed
  • Meals, hydration and household routines
  • Medication support within the agreed plan
  • Mobility and safe movement
  • Companionship and reassurance
  • Appointments, shopping and community access
  • Maintaining hobbies and social contact
  • Monitoring wellbeing and reporting changes
  • Night-time support arrangements as specifically assessed and agreed

How we work

Live-in care arrangements are individually assessed. The care worker’s working time, rest periods, accommodation and night-time expectations must be clearly agreed before the service begins. Where waking support is needed throughout the night, a separate waking-night arrangement may be required.

Before support begins, we discuss the person’s needs, strengths, preferences, communication style, routines, risks and desired outcomes. The agreed support plan is reviewed so that care remains appropriate and responsive.
